Simply stated, the purpose of FPI is to:
- Serve as a bridge between mainstream service delivery systems and the African immigrant population;
- Provide health education, immigration, social support services that meet the needs of African immigrant population in the state of Massachusets
- Create partnerships that will advance the frontier of social support services to the underserved communities in Central Massachusetts; and to
- Undertake development work in sub-Sahara African countries.
In the next two years, the Fairbridge Project (FPI) will carry out the following activities:
Community Organizing and advocacy
Outreach Health education:
HIV/AIDS advocacy and education
Maternal child health education
Environmental Health
Case management
Career & Family Counseling referral services
Language translation/interpretation and Cultural Awareness Education
Literacy program including computer training for immigrants with limited education
Resume writing, job coaching and job placement.
Research on immigrants/refugees trend and progress.
- Immigrant Enterprise Scheme.
All the future activities of the organization are planned with the purpose of relieving the poor, the distressed and the underprivileged African immigrant population and other minority group living in Central Massachusetts
