We work with stakeholders in the community, which includes provider agencies and nationality organizations to identify the problems facing African immigants. We then build consensus through focus groups and workshops, and improve on the capacity of each interest group by providing technical support. We ensure sustainability through the cultivation of internal leadership. We promote collaborative work among African groups and other minorities both secular and faith based in order to engender effectiveness and secure better support from funders.
In the developing countries of sub-Sahara Africa, FPI tackles systemic problems, organize and align similar organizations for synergy. We work with community based organizations (CBOs) to define local issues and build stakeholders' participation. We promote partnership and collaboration to develop one voice that will accelerate advocacy work for the underserved. We attack the underlining causes of poverty and inequalities. We engage authorities to do more for those in need. We consult with development and donor agencies to direct their resources to where they would have maximum impact. We unlock the potential of individuals and groups to perform effectively. We promote debates and discussions through workshops, seminars, conferences and publications to shape policies that would drastically reduce poverty, illiteracy and public health problems facing the people of Africa.
